One need only browse the contents of a Shoutcast streaming radio directory to realize that there are thousands of home-brew Internet radio stations catering to just about every musical interest possible. Many of these stations are grassroots entities relying on desktop DJ software to keep the station up and running. Cloud DJ by Wavestreaming is looking to move home-brew DJing to the cloud.

The service allows you to upload your music to their cloud drives and then provides a web-based management interface to create playlists, schedule radio content and then push the music to a Shoutcast server of your choice. By moving radio management to the cloud, it will help overcome many of the obstacles present when relying on desktop DJ software including outages in home Internet connectivity, de-conflicting schedules for multiple-DJs, etc. On the downside, you lose the ability to integrate live voice though that is a feature that could be easily added.

We haven’t tested the service, but have used Wavestreaming products for several years with no issues. You can check it out at Wavestreaming.com.
